Remittances are one of the biggest drags on the US econ. Instead of the $ being spent here in the US where it will create jobs, it’s remitted back to the 3rd world where USD are worth a fortune.
Or in this case driving up US debt by prnting (borrowing) dollars we don’t have.
Welfare is supposed to be for our citizens.
No wonder the US is $22 trillion in debt. It would be bad enough to go into debt to pay for welfare, but then giving it to other nations is madness.
We can’t be the world’s cookie jar.
If the US ended remittances today, it would cut off much of the immigration to the US – and it would stop the siphon into our economy.
