Oh boy, hundreds of $15/hr jobs.
America, happy days are here again.
While your $50 – $100 IT job is either shipped offshore, or occupied by illegal H-1B workers right here in the USA, you get to work in a crowded Amazon warehouse slinging boxes, or driving a delivery truck.
And we’re talking a whopping 100s of jobs here – while 20-30 million jobs have been shipped to Asia in the past 20 years.
And just think, if you’re lucky enough to land one of those $15 SF AMZN jobs, you get to look at all your fellow Americans living in tents just across the freeway.
Thanks Bezos, you sure are a nice guy.
Stealing wages from workers to spend billions on rockets that aren’t going to compete with SpaceX.
What a guy….
For $200 mil, you could have bought 200 San Franciscans each a $1 million dollar house and handed it to them for free. They’d probably rather have that than a crappy $15/hr job that pays $2,400/mo, pretax – not even enough to make rent in the Bay Area.
Amazon has swept up a 5.9-acre site at the cusp of the SoMa, Potrero Hill and Mission Bay neighborhoods, with plans to build a 150,000-square-foot delivery center where more than 1,000 homes were once planned.
